Scott M. Slayden, M.D.
Scott M. Slayden, M.D. joined Reproductive Biology Associates in January 2001. Dr. Slayden is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Slayden is a member of numerous medical societies, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Endocrine Society, the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecology Society, and the North American Menopause Society.
Originally a native of Coral Gables, Florida, Dr. Slayden moved to Atlanta in 1974 and graduated from Pace Academy. He obtained a B.S. degree from Vanderbilt University, where he developed his interest in reproductive medicine over 20 years ago while working as a research assistant in the Vanderbilt IVF program. Dr. Slayden obtained his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed four years of Obstetrics & Gynecology residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Afterwards, Dr. Slayden completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1997. During this time he received extensive experience in in vitro fertilization (IVF), ovulation induction, infertility surgery, research design, and treatment of female endocrine disorders – including androgen excess and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Prior to joining RBA, Dr. Slayden continued his academic teaching role as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility and Genetics at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta.
Dr. Slayden’s primary clinical and research interests include IVF and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), evaluation & treatment of patients with elevated FSH levels, and the potential use of oocyte freezing with in vitro oocyte maturation (IVM) for fertility preservation and treatment. His greatest professional satisfaction comes with the daily privilege of helping couples reach their family building goals.
Out of the office, Dr. Slayden enjoys spending time with his wife and their three young children. Dr. Slayden sees patients in both the Lawrenceville and Main Office in Dunwoody.

Donna Maynard
Lawrenceville Office Manager
Donna Maynard joined Reproductive Biology Associates in May of 1995. Donna is the Office Manager in the Lawrenceville Office, running the front office, and is also one of Dr. Scott Slayden's medical assistants. She is in charge of the andrology laboratory in Lawrenceville, preparing semen specimens for analysis and performing semen washing for intrauterine inseminations. Prior to joining the Lawrenceville team in 2001, Donna worked with Dr. Michael Witt, RBA's male infertility specialist, for six years at our Main Office. |
Tracey Womble, RN
Lawrenceville Office Registered Nurse
Tracey Womble joined Reproductive Biology Associates in July of 1998. She became acquainted with the practice as an infertility patient herself. Admiring the care and compassion RBA provided their patients, she aspired to become a team member. As a registered nurse for over twenty years, she presently works with Dr. Scott Slayden at the Lawrenceville office since his arrival in 2001. |
Jennifer Sassano
Lawrenceville Office Medical Assistant
Jennifer Sassano joined Reproductive Associates in February of 2006. She is a newcomer to Atlanta, relocating from Houston, Texas. Jennifer graduated from the Texas School of Business in 2002. She holds a national certification in Medical Assisting. Jennifer works primarily in the Lawrenceville Office and brings to RBA a genuine passion for helping couples become families. |
Kim Byron
Lawrenceville Office Ultrasonographer
Kim Byron, a Georgia native, joined Reproductive Biology Associates in April of 2003. Kim is a graduate of the Ultrasound Diagnostic School of Atlanta. She performs ultrasounds in both the Lawrenceville and Main Office locations. |
